Co-Designing and Launching a National Network

with The Moment & partners

How might a group of similar programs come together to support and accelerate their impact? This project focused on forming and launching a network of music education programs for underserved children and youth across Canada.

A partner designer with The Moment and I created and facilitated intensive, virtual co-design sessions with all stakeholders. Fostering a safe space for different voices resulted in deeper alignment and forward motion where earlier efforts had failed.

By the end of the design phase, the newly formed network had developed a “Collaboration Agreement”, including an organizational framework, key activities, partnership and governance guidelines.

The design phase set the foundation for the current launch phase of the network. As part of the Innovation Design team, I then helped the network’s stewardship group translate the vision into reality. By establishing group norms and practices, mentoring leaders, and setting up key systems and resources, the network has launched, and headed towards future success and impact.
